SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – A Six-man team composed of personnel from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Fire Department was deployed to help in the rescue operation in Ilocos Norte.

Ilocos Norte was placed in a state of calamity on Wednesday (July 26) due to massive damage brought by Typhoon “Egay”. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported that the province has suffered heavy rainfall, flooding, power interruptions, and road blockages. 

In a statement, SBMA said that the group that they deployed will utilize rescue equipment such as pelican lights, Petzl helmets, chainsaws, paddles, jerry cans, spine boards, life vests, rescue buoys, ropes, and pulleys for the water search and rescue operation in the province.

It will be conducted alongside the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Emergency Response Unit (ERU). FREEPORT INSIDER
