SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The body of a 15-year-old boy who drowned at the height of typhoon “Egay” was found on Friday at the bay area facing Waterfront Road inside this freeport.

According to a report from the City Disaster Risk and Rescue Management Office, Andrei Daquilanea, a resident of Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City, drowned after he was swept by the raging currents of the Sta. River at the height of Typhoon “Egay” on Thursday.

A joint search and rescue operation within the area was immediately mounted by combined rescue teams but they did not find the boy’s body. 

On Friday morning, the body was found floating in the waters just in front of Building 299. His parents confirmed the identity of the dead body. FREEPORT INSIDER
