OLONGAPO CITY – After saving his 7-year old son, a British national drowned at Baloy long beach in Barangay Barretto here on Sunday (July 16).
Police identified the fatality as Rex Jonathan Bruce Lewis, 57, a resident of Sta. Monica Subdivision in Subic town in Zambales province.
Based on the police report, the victim’s partner noticed that their son went farther while swimming around 12 noon, so she immediately informed her partner.
The victim swam quickly and was able to pull his son to the safe side of the sea. Police said the wife then noticed that her husband was unconscious after rescuing their son, prompting her to ask for help.
A rescue team responded and rushed him to the James L Gordon Memorial Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. FREEPORT INSIDER
