SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The Bureau of Customs (BoC) has assigned a new district collector in this freeport.

In a statement on Friday, the Bureau of Customs -port of Subic announced that Ciriaco Ugay formally assumed the post as the new district collector of the port on Wednesday, August 9.

Ugay who is a Former Port of Cebu Acting District Collector replaced Carmelita Talusan who is now assigned to the X-ray Inspection Project of the bureau.

Before he was assigned to the port of Cebu, Ugay was deputy collector of the Subport of Mactan from 2006 to 2013 then district collector of the Ports of Iloilo, Subic, and Surigao.

Ugay expressed his excitement about returning to Subic for the 3rd time.

“The port of Subic holds a special place in my career and I am committed to upholding its legacy of excellence,” said Ugay.

Ugay also asked for everyone’s support, cooperation, and commitment in order to achieve the Bureau’s mandates in terms of revenue collection, border protection, and trade facilitation. FREEPORT INSIDER
