As Tropical Storm “Dodong” (Talim) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday (July 16), most areas in Luzon, including Zambales and Bataan provinces, would continue to experience heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services.

In Zambales, the Subic Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office released a thunderstorm advisory at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, warning residents of the possibility of flash floods and landslides.

Olongapo City’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) also issued consecutive localized thunderstorm advisories at 10:05 p.m. on the same day and another at midnight.

Still recovering from Dodong’s impact, an active low pressure area (LPA) had formed east of Mindanao.

The LPA is set to be named Typhoon “Egay” and has the potential to turn into a storm within 24 to 48 hours, as observed by the state weather bureau. FREEPORT INSIDER
