A motorcycle driver sustained injuries after slamming into a car while heading to a hospital to bring a wheelchair for his wife on Saturday (Aug. 26) afternoon, authorities said.

Raffy Ladera suffered minor bruises on his face following the collision shortly before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Magsaysay Drive and Olongapo City Road. Ladera was bringing a wheelchair to his hospitalized wife, who was recovering from gallbladder surgery.

Investigators said the car’s 75-year-old driver and his 66-year-old wife were unscathed, but the vehicle sustained damage to its bumper.

The couple was heading to Hermosa town in nearby Bataan province at the time of the accident, the Freeport Insider learned.

Authorities said the motorcycle driver failed to notice the car in front of him after a passenger jeepney obstructed his view. RALPH MORANO, JASMINE BUNDALIAN, JENNYROSE BITAGO AND RAMIL CORONEL CONTRIBUTED TO THIS STORY- FREEPORT INSIDER
