“What’s the best place to grab a beer and watch the game near Freeport Fl?”

Here is a list of the best sports bars near Freeport Fl according to our followers. If your favorite spot isn’t mentioned don’t worry, please leave a comment and I will be happy to do a follow up and add them.

In no particular order let’s begin with:

LJ Schooners Dockside Restaurant and Oyster Bar,

Trying saying that one 3 times fast!  Located in the Blue Water Bay community about 25 minutes west of Freeport along Highway 20.  With Chef Wayne Alexander at the helm, Schooners offers a full menu to satisfy even the most diverse group of hungry sports fans.  For the seafood fans, there is an open air oyster bar where you can enjoy some refreshments as you take in the gorgeous sunset view.  Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hurricane Oyster Bar & Grill

Located in popular Grayton Beach just a short 17 minute car ride (according to google maps) this local eatery is advertised as “Possibly the last Sowal restaurant you’ll ever look for…just sayin”.  The menu includes almost 20 different ways to do oysters, Kids menu for the younger sports fans and much much more.  Something for everyone here at Hurricanes.  Happy Hour everyday from 3-6pm with NFL Sunday Ticket on TV’s inside and outside the bar area.  Just leave the credit cards at home as Hurricanes advertises “CASH or CHECK ONLY”  Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steam Boat Grill

This one has 2 locations.  On Highway 98 in Santa Rosa Beach and down on 30a.  The reviews on this place are great and make me want to go and try one of everything as each review raved about a different dish, and for you veggie lovers they have vegetarian options too!  If you’re looking for entertainment but sports isn’t necessarily your thing you can find Karaoke nights and “Live Music on the Porch” featuring some of the top local artists.  Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Shades Bar & Grill on 30a

located on the east end of Highway 30a about 26 minutes as the google car flies.  In addition to the football and baseball games Shades also features UFC events.  Monthly beer tasting events are also on the menu if you feel like trying something new.  The menu is extensive and has everything from Wings, to Gumbo, to Flat bread pizza and much much more.  Happy Hour is Monday – Friday 3-6pm.  Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Bay

The Bay on 331 just south of the bridge is a great casual place any day of the week.  It’s not a full sports bar so the place isn’t littered with TV’s but if you get a spot at the bar you’re in good shape.  If sports isn’t your thing and you’re just looking for a nice place to get some great food and enjoy some music or the view, The Bay will not disappoint.   Happy Hour is 4-6pm daily.  Every Wednesday night they have a beach bonfire and live music, but get there early as this is a very popular event.  On Sundays enjoy the Bayside Brunch from 11-2pm and try the Chicken and Waffles!   Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The HUB 30a

Is located along Scenic Highway 30a within the Prominence community.  Saturdays and Sundays are reserved for Football ALL Day!  They have the NFL Sunday Ticket and show the games up on the big screen behind the stage.  Plenty of seating on the green.  With multiple eateries surrounding the green there is no shortage of food options within reach.  You must check this place out to truly appreciate everything the venue has to offer!   Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fat Daddys Pizza

Home of the $1 beer! located in Santa Rosa Beach on the Northside of Highway 98.  Fat Daddy’s offers all of your usual menu items for a pizza place.  The pizza is large and tasty!  Kid friendly with some video games for entertainment.   Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Buffalo Jacks Legendary Wings & Pizza

has the longest drive at just over 34 minutes.  Voted best place to watch the game in 2014 this place checks all the boxes.  Plenty of tv’s to watch multiple games, plenty of menu options and plenty of beer on tap to wash it all down.  They are kid friendly and offer multiple options on the children’s menu.   Yelp rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So there you have it!  Freeport may be lacking a sports bar/pub right now but at least this gives you some options you maybe didn’t know about to get out and explore the nearby area and still get your football fix!

Check back often as we will be putting together more blog posts like this to help fill in the gaps until Freeport gets more options within City limits!

I’m glad you mentioned some aspects of the sports bars you talked about, like how the last one has plenty of TVs and beer on tap. I actually don’t have a TV in my new place, so I’m looking for a fun place where I can watch games in the future. One that has a lot of TVs in every part of the restaurant and good beer would be perfect for me and the guys!
