STRANDED TEACHERS DUE TO TYPHOON JULIAN RESCUED IN BOTOLAN

Botolan, ZAMBALES – Eleven persons, including three Botolan teachers and five visiting teachers from Ateneo, were rescued from PoonBato, Botolan on Sunday, September 29.

The teachers and their three assistants were stranded at the PoonBato integrated school as lahar and flood water rose due to rains caused by Typhoon Julian.

Botolan rescuers reached the group at past 4pm , and were safely brought to a clearing by 6:15pm, Andy Divino, head of Botolan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) told the Freeport Insider.

The group was in the area despite heavy rains to bring assistance to students there. (FREEPORT INSIDER)
